Job description

Our client, the in-house agency of large telecommunications company in NYC, is looking for an Email Account Director / Project Manager for an ongoing contract position. This person will lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of email and CRM-driven marketing initiatives. This role is highly client-facing and requires a confident leader who can independently manage relationships, guide projects from concept through deployment, and ensure high-quality delivery with minimal oversight from senior leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in email marketing, CRM systems, and lifecycle communications, along with the ability to mentor and oversee junior team members. This individual will act as a trusted partner to clients, translating business goals into effective, data-driven email programs while ensuring operational excellence across all workstreams.
  • This is an ongoing contract that requires 2-days/week onsite in Manhattan.
  • Pay Rate: $65-75/hour
Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day client communications, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for email and CRM initiatives
  • Own and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met with precision
  • Develop and oversee email marketing and CRM strategies, including lifecycle programs, segmentation, personalization, and automation
  • Translate client objectives into actionable project plans and campaign roadmaps
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, strategy, analytics, and development teams to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Review and ensure quality of all email deliverables, including messaging, design alignment, targeting, and deployment accuracy
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional development
  • Identify opportunities to optimize campaign performance through testing, analytics, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across all aspects of project execution, including QA and compliance with best practices
  • Proactively identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track
  • Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiencies within the team and broader organization
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in account management, project management, or similar role within a marketing or advertising agency
  • Strong expertise in email marketing and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships independently with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-channel campaigns with a strong focus on email and lifecycle marketing
  • Experience overseeing and mentoring junior team members
  • Deep understanding of email best practices, including segmentation, personalization, deliverability, and performance optimization
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to inform strategy and improve performance
