Position Summary


The Electrical Estimator/Sales Representative is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, and preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical systems. This role combines technical estimating expertise with customer-facing sales responsibilities to drive revenue growth and ensure successful project outcomes.


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


Sales & Customer Relations

  • Identify and pursue electrical sales opportunities.
  • Conduct on-site consultations to evaluate customer needs and present system options.
  • Prepare and present proposals, close sales, and guide customers through the sales process.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote repeat business and referrals.

Estimating & Proposal Development

  • Evaluate job sites, blueprints, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure feasibility and scope alignment.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, and material take-offs.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with local codes, company standards, and safety regulations.

Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise

  • Recommend equipment and system solutions based on performance, efficiency, and customer needs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, product updates, and code changes.
  • Understand and articulate the value of different system configurations and upgrades.

Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, sales activity, and project status.
  • Use estimating tools and CRM software to manage pipeline and track performance.
  • Report regularly to management on goals, progress, and market trends.

Requirements:Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 3+ years of estimating and/or sales experience in Electric/MEP trades.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Field and office-based role with regular site visits and customer meetings.
  • May require flexible hours to accommodate client schedules.
  • Prolonged screen viewing.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds.
