Job description

Residential Electrical Sales & Service Tech
Knee's Electrical Service | Marion, IN
Our top techs earn $100,000+ per year. No electrical license required.
If you're a people person who's mechanically inclined and motivated by income, keep reading. This is not a typical trades job. It's a sales and service role where the right person can build a serious career - and a serious income - without an electrical background.
What This Job Actually Is
You'll go into homeowners' homes, figure out what's wrong with their electrical system, and present them with honest options to fix it. You'll use a flat-rate pricing guide - no guessing, no negotiating. You explain the problem in plain language, show them what it would take to solve it at different levels, and let them choose. When they say yes, you do the work or coordinate the install.
That's it. You're part problem-solver, part trusted advisor, part salesperson - and you get paid for all three.
Who We're Looking For
This role is built for someone who:
  • Is a natural communicator - you can talk to anyone, make them feel comfortable, and explain things without talking over their head
  • Is mechanically inclined - you don't need to be an electrician, but you need to be the kind of person who figures things out, isn't intimidated by tools, and can learn how residential electrical systems work
  • Is motivated by income - you want to earn, not just clock in. Our pay structure rewards performance and our top techs prove it every year
  • Takes pride in their work - you leave every home cleaner than you found it and every customer more confident than when you arrived
  • Is reliable and self-managed - you run your own day, manage your truck, and don't need to be babysat

No electrical license required. We will train the right person on everything they need to know about residential electrical troubleshooting and service. What we can't train is personality, work ethic, and the drive to earn.
Who We Are
Knee's Electrical Service has been taking care of Indiana homeowners since 1971 - founded by our owner's grandfather, and still family-owned today. We're residential only - no commercial, no new construction. Just homeowners who need electrical work done right by people they can trust.
We run out of Marion with service across Marion, Kokomo, Muncie, and Warsaw. We invest in our team, we market aggressively to keep the schedule full, and we've built a system that lets great people make great money doing work they're proud of.
What Your Day Looks Like
  • Dispatcher books your calls - you focus on the customer, not the schedule
  • Fully stocked, wrapped company truck - your mobile office
  • Run 3-4 residential calls per day
  • Conduct a full home electrical inspection on every visit
  • Present flat-rate options using our StraightForward Pricing Guide
  • Close the work, collect payment, ask for a review
  • Move to the next call

What We Offer
  • Base hourly pay + performance bonus - top techs earn $100K+ per year
  • Company truck - fully stocked and wrapped, yours to run
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • Paid holidays
  • PTO - 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 5 years
  • Structured paid training - we invest in making you great at this
  • Weekly coaching - you're never just thrown in and forgotten
  • Year-round work - we market in every season to keep you busy
  • Professional, stable team - clear expectations, real leadership, no drama

Ready to Apply?
Apply through this posting. Tell us a little about yourself - not just your work history, but why you think this role fits you.
If you look like a fit, we move fast.
