Job description

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Lancaster  to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Elementary School students. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring Math Tutors to support students in grades 3rd-5th. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

An in-person background check is required.

Pay & Benefits

  • $20–$26 per hour, based on education and experience

  • Attendance-based pay incentives

  • Voluntary health benefits (Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity)

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • $250 sign on bonus

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday availability required

  • Schedule: 2:30pm-5:30pm M-F

Requirements

  • Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)

  • Experience working with children or tutoring preferred

  • Comfortable tutoring Elementary School Math

  • Ability to manage large groups of students independently

  • Comfortable working in a classroom setting

  • Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)

  • Spanish Bilingual is preferred not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Tutor large groups of students up to 15 without direct teacher supervision

  • Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials

  • Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment

  • Support positive student behavior and participation

  • Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard

  • Assist with student assessments when requested

  • Escort students to and from designated areas on campus

  • Clock in/out daily using Deputy

  • Complete additional duties as assigned
