Document Controller

Location: Carson, CA

Department: Project

Reports To: Contract Administrator

Direct Report: None

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Document Controller is responsible for maintaining organized and updated documents for the Project. Their duties include using document management software to upload or scan paper documents, retrieving documents for authorized personnel and ensuring document storage to comply with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Print and distribute documents as needed.
  • Scan and upload documents according to company procedure.
  • Collect and register all technical documents such as drawings and blueprints in the companyโ€™s system.
  • Review and update documents for maintenance and quality control.
  • Keep other personnel updated on new document versions and how to obtain access.
  • Handle records across various departments.
  • Create templates for use by other personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive documents.
  • Establish and maintain record retention timelines.
  • Interface with customer document control system to ensure all company documents are sent correctly and following the requirements established by the project.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Document Controller or similar role
  • Familiarity with project management
  • Basic knowledge of labor and corporate law
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office and MS Excel
  • Proficient typing and editing skills
  • Data organization skills


Working Hours:

  • Monday โ€“ Friday, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM
