Document Control Specialist – $20–$22/Hour

Location: Taylor, TX
Compensation: $20.00–$22.00 per hour plus applicable overtime
Employment Type: Long-term contract; temp-to-permanent opportunity
Project Length: Approximately two years

Job Summary

We are hiring two Document Control Specialists to support an onsite inspection and quality-assurance team in Taylor, Texas. These individuals will observe project and inspection activities, document the work performed, and help ensure project paperwork is accurate, organized, and complete.

This position does not require performing construction work. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working with detailed information, and able to communicate effectively with technical and project personnel.

Experience in document control is helpful but not required. Candidates with administrative, teaching, data-entry, quality, construction-office, or recordkeeping experience may also be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Observe and document inspection-team activities.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection logs, forms, reports, and project records.
  • Check paperwork for accuracy, completeness, dates, signatures, and required information.
  • Enter and update information using electronic files, spreadsheets, and project systems.
  • Organize electronic and hard-copy records.
  • Track documentation and follow up on missing information.
  • Work closely with inspectors and project personnel.
  • Follow document-control procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist with scanning, copying, filing, uploading, and distributing approved documents.
  • Provide general documentation and administrative support to the project team.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to learn technical terms and project procedures.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Professional communication with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and customer personnel.
  • Ability to work onsite in Taylor, TX.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Schedule and Work Conditions

  • Potential schedules of 40, 50, 60, or 70 hours per week depending on project needs.
  • Overtime and double-time opportunities may be available.
  • Work takes place inside an active semiconductor manufacturing and construction facility.
  • Some walking through a large facility may be required.
  • Hard hat, safety glasses, and other required protective equipment must be worn when applicable.
  • Cleanroom attire may be required in designated areas.
  • No travel required.
  • Local candidates within approximately 50 miles of Taylor are strongly preferred.

Required Before Starting

  • Drug screen and extensive background check.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Customer-required orientation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
