Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of document control from planning through contract closeout on construction projects and/or programs.

Duties/Responsibilities

 

This position is responsible for the coordination and management of project documents. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Process documents and maintain electronic and hard copy document control files in accordance with project document control procedures, including usage of web-based project management systems such as Trimble Unity Connect and/or CMMS. Examples of types of project documents include correspondence, field memos, proceed orders, change orders, submittals, pay requests, drawing log, safety notices, RFIs, photos, as-builts, warranties, commissioning reports, non-conformance reports etc.
  • Scan, index, link and distribute documents in approved project management system(s).
  • Assist the PM/RE and the Project Team in all matters relative to project documents including the control and distribution of documents, preparing transmittals as required, etc. 
  • Review and/or conduct quality checks of documents as required,
  • Configure, update, and maintain document management control logs and matrices.
  • Other duties as required by the project, client, or SQN business needs.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with document control systems.
  • Certified in IDOT’s Documentation of Contract Quantities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated process execution skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving with the ability to efficiently switch between tasks productively.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines in a complex environment.
