Job description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Linguistics Consultant I to support initiatives that promote health equity, cultural responsiveness, and language access across diverse patient populations. This role helps improve patient care by enhancing clinical communication, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to language access programs. Working with cross-functional stakeholders and senior consultants, the incumbent will assist with project planning, research, analysis, presentations, and implementation of strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, along with experience in healthcare, diversity and inclusion, health equity, language services, or consulting. A commitment to continuous learning and advancing equitable, inclusive care is essential.

Note: Work location is on-site with the flexibility to work remotely, the primary location will be in-office for meetings, per Kaiser Permanente-s Authorized States Policy - Employees may be required to travel to a Kaiser Permanente or customer site. Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for tracking, organizing, and/or monitoring equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID) initiatives in the workforce, care delivery, and community in alignment with an organization-wide strategy with clear guidance and directions from the manager/supervisor/team lead; assisting in EID-related consultations and engagement plans within work groups/teams/committees; organizing activities and addressing commonly asked inquiries that are low risk/low complexity /operational (e.g., tools, resources/assets) in nature; supporting the creation of communication plans by completing tasks within the plan that are led by the manager/supervisor/team lead; and using basic knowledge of EID-related policies, regulations, and guidelines. Assists in the development of requirements for business, process, or system solutions. Works with stakeholders and cross-functional teams as appropriate. Works with multiple stakeholders under the guidance of more senior team members to ensure cohesive and reachable metrics. Supports compliance with work activities. Provides consulting support under the guidance of more senior team members to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders. Serves as an advocate of continuous learning and professional development. Attends and participates in roadshows, conferences, and speaking events. Performs data analyses to support business initiatives under the guidance of more senior team members. Assists in the management of project components under the guidance of team members. Supports the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state. Provides consulting support under the guidance of more senior team members to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the implementation of successful business initiatives and projects. Supports the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state. Supports strategic planning and organizational alignment and prioritization of business initiatives. Assists in the management of project components and performs data analyses in support of business initiatives, under the guidance of more senior team members. Supports compliance of work activities by adhering to relevant policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the development of requirements for business, process, or system solutions within assigned business domain(s) by working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams as appropriate; leveraging business requirements gathering methodologies to identify business, functional, and non-functional requirements; and assisting in the development and documentation of business cases to assess the costs, benefits, and ROI of proposed solutions.
  • Supports strategic planning and organizational alignment and prioritization of business initiatives by assisting in evaluating performance metrics, standards, and methods to establish business success; working with multiple stakeholders under the guidance of more senior team members to ensure cohesive and reachable metrics; and executing assigned initiatives to ensure delivery of measurable results and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Supports compliance of work activities by adhering to KP, departmental, and/or business line policies and procedures.
  • Provides consulting support under the guidance of more senior team members to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the implementation of successful business initiatives and projects within a functional track or workstream by building rapport and partnerships with stakeholder teams, third party vendors, and senior management; coordinating work efforts with stakeholders to develop goals and set the prioritization of deliverables; and preparing presentations and reports as appropriate.
  • Serves as an advocate of continuous learning and professional development by building a general knowledge of industry practices, standards, and benchmarks; attending and participating in roadshows, conferences, and speaking events; and supporting the ongoing enhancement and innovation of business consulting practices, standards, and methods across KP.
  • Performs data analyses to support business initiatives under the guidance of more senior team members by using appropriate data analysis tools and approaches to assess business performance; leveraging suitable data gathering and analysis methods (e.g., process observation, hard data, etc.); and conducting analyses and performing experimental tests to evaluate the effectiveness of business solutions.
  • Assists in the management of project components under the guidance of team members by coordinating stakeholder contacts; recommending team resources based on project needs and team member strengths; coordinating project schedules and resource forecasts; proactively monitoring and identifying project or business initiative risks, issues, and trigger events; and resolving or escalating risks or issues as appropriate.
  • Supports the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state by building a working understanding of how current processes impact business operations; mapping current state against future state processes; and identifying the operational impact of requirements on upstream and downstream solution components.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in diversity management/consultation or active participation in workplace diversity and inclusion efforts (includes an internship, Employee Resource Group [ERG], and community experience).
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in facilitating presentations or training.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with diversity and inclusion concepts and programs.
  • At least 60 credits towards a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university OR Minimum one (1) years experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations, or a directly related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) years data analytics experience.
  • One (1) years experience working with Excel functions including, formulas, pivot tables, etc.
