FULL-TIME Opportunity
Starting Pay: $20.81 per hour
***$1,500 bonus opportunity after 9 months***
  • $300 after 90 days and achieving 90% sign off on Interfacility Call Taking and EMD Certification
  • $300 after 180 days and achieving 90% sign off on 911 Call Taking
  • $900 after 270 days and achieving a 90% sign off on a dispatching channel

As the first first responders, Dispatch Associates perform a critical role in the Emergency Medical Services and Fire systems. Dispatchers take emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch ambulances and fire engines via radio. Dispatchers respond to emergencies large and small, providing real time care and assistance to the public.
As a dispatcher, each day is different, full of new challenges and experiences. Most importantly, this may be the most rewarding job you will ever do.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process both emergency (911) and non-emergency calls to determine what type of assistance is needed and ensure that help is dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high standard of accountability and professionalism while demonstrating an excellent standard of care, and exemplary customer service
  • Provide medical dispatch instructions in accordance with the training and standards of the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch
  • Track and enter data for emergency and non-emergency calls for service using a computer aided dispatch system.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to dispatch appropriate resources (fire trucks, ambulances) to community members in need of assistance.
  • Facilitate the timely transport of patients in our interfacility market.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of emergency dispatch, medical or telecommunications experience, OR a minimum of 2 years of high-demand customer service experience
  • Strong reading comprehension and writing skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
  • Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Possess strong typing and data entry skills
  • Computer experience sufficient to simultaneously use multiple computer systems and applications after appropriate training
