Applicants should be prepared to handle detailed documentation, tight deadlines, and emotionally charged situations. Building strong communication and organizational skills, as well as staying current on Social Security and disability law, can help attorneys succeed in this field.

To thrive as a Disability Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, state bar admission, and deep knowledge of disability and Social Security law. Familiarity with legal research databases, case management software, and e-filing systems is typically required.
