Williamsburg Disability Lawyer Wants to Find a Hearing Attorney Who Still Sees the Human Being

whether you are still practicing law or just processing files?

My name is Brian Gillette. I have been a lawyer for 34 years and I have spent more than 20 of
them representing people who cannot work anymore. I am looking for one attorney to handle
hearings alongside me. Before I tell you anything about the job, I am going to tell you about me,
because if I am not your kind of lawyer then nothing else in this ad is going to matter.

Here Is What My Life Actually Looks Like

I get up at six in the morning.

The first thing I do is walk Puzzle, my Scottish Deerhound. If you have never seen a Scottish Deerhound, picture a shaggy greyhound the size of a miniature pony who has decided her real
calling is comforting people. She is enormous and she is patient and she is better with people than most people are.

Then I make myself a latte on my espresso machine and heat up some egg bites in the microwave. This is not a glamorous breakfast. It is the breakfast of a man who wants to get to
work.

I have a ten-minute commute to my office in Williamsburg, unless I am headed to a hearing somewhere else.

On Mondays I do something different. I take a couple of hours at a coffee shop for what I call thinking time. No files. No email. Just working on the business of this firm instead of working in
it. I spent most of my career too busy to do this. That was a mistake.

At lunch I take Puzzle for a walk.

I usually stop working around five. Sometimes I look up and it is seven. I try not to work Saturdays. I am not always successful.

That is my day. Now let me tell you why I am writing this.

Why I Am Writing This Ad

I am 34 years into this career, and I have recently been forced to think hard about how I want to spend the next stretch of it.

I am not ready to retire. I like this work. I still take hearings and I am not eager to give them up. But I have come to understand that if I keep being the only lawyer in this firm, this firm ends the
day I stop. And I have built something here that
