Job Description
In Virginia Tech's Division of Student Affairs, that's exactly what we're doing every day-guiding, nurturing, and supporting students as they learn and grow into the leaders and world-changers of today and tomorrow.
We're currently searching for an Assistant Director for Testing Services to join our Services for Students with Disabilities team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're passionate about serving students with disabilities, please keep reading.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You'll be joining the Services for Students with Disabilities team; a department centered on access and inclusion by determining reasonable accommodations for students in the living and learning environment.
2) You'll be reporting to the Director for Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
3) You'll be managing the operations of the SSD Testing Center.
4) You'll ensure the seamless delivery of exam-related accommodations for students with disabilities, collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure accessibility and compliance with disability laws.
5) You'll supervise testing staff, coordinate resources, and play a crucial role in ensuring equitable access to academic assessments for students with disabilities.
6) You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
7) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $55,000 - $65,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience with supervising full-time professionals.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws governing disability rights and accommodations (ADA, Section 504, etc.).
Working knowledge of AHEAD standards and best practices for student disability services.
Proficient in effectively communicating with multiple stakeholders.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and community partners.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Professional experience working with students with disabilities in a higher education setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and/or equivalent amount of experience working in disability services in higher education.
Experience with universal design for learning (UDL) principles.
