We are seeking a high-impact Digital Performance Marketing Leader to lead Performance Media strategy across channels. This role will be responsible for supporting Customer Acquisition and Ecommerce growth objectives through effective execution and optimization of digital performance marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven, growth-oriented leader with deep expertise in search engine optimization (SEO), paid search (SEM), programmatic media, social advertising, and emerging digital marketing technologies. Collaborate with product, analytics, engineering, merchandising, and agency partners to execute integrated performance marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Execute the digital performance marketing strategy across SEO and paid digital media in support of established revenue, margin, and acquisition goals.
  • Lead the execution and ongoing optimization of digital performance marketing programs, ensuring alignment with broader marketing strategy.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps for organic and paid initiatives aligned to annual and mid-term marketing priorities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on integrated campaigns, ensuring alignment between marketing, analytics, media and creative.

SEO Strategy & Execution
  • Oversee end-to-end SEO strategy, including technical optimization, content strategy, site architecture, and link-building initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver SEO-friendly site enhancements and optimize crawlability, speed, and user experience.
  • Develop reporting frameworks to track keyword performance, traffic growth, and conversion impact.
  • Stay ahead of search engine algorithm updates and AI-driven search trends to protect and grow organic visibility.

Paid Digital Media Strategy
  • Manage paid search, display, social, and programmatic media execution, optimizing performance against defined ROI targets.
  • Manage media planning, buying, testing, and optimization across Google, Meta, and other platforms.
  • Build full-funnel campaigns that balance brand-building and performance marketing goals.
  • Partner with analytics to monitor performance metrics such as ROAS and CAC and identify optimization opportunities.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management (10%)
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing SEO and digital media team ensuring team efforts align with established strategies and organizational priorities
  • Manage relationships with agencies, technology partners, and platform reps to maximize value and performance.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration across content, analytics, product, and merchandising teams.

Qualifications
Required
  • 15+ years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing SEO and paid media.
  • Proven track record of scaling performance marketing programs and achieving aggressive growth targets.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO, paid media platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, DV360, Google Analytics etc.).
  • Expertise in A/B testing, attribution modeling, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred
  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or subscription-driven businesses.
  • Curiosity to learn AI-driven personalization and generative search trends.
  • Strong cross-functional experience working with engineering, analytics, and product teams.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $149,000.00 - $214,750.00
