QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Similar athletic experience required
  2. Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
  3. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  4. Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or Arizona Coaching Certificate - optional
  5. Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
  2. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
  3. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

FUNCTION: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
POSITION SUMMARY
The coach must demonstrate and apply leadership, integrity, responsibility, self-control, and knowledge of rules and regulations at all times.  It is necessary and important that the coach act in a responsible and professional manner.  The coach must set a good example and provide a healthy lifestyle.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 




  1. Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
  2. Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
  3. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
  4. Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
  5. Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
  6. Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his sport.
  7. Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and overseas penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Coach reports to the Site Administrator. The Coach will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions.  All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
