Position: Special Education Teacher
Hours or FTE: 1.0 FTE Starting Date: August 2026
Job Description: Stewartville School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Duties include providing special education support for students, developing materials and lesson plans, conducting classroom instruction, and evaluating and assessing student performance. The educator will meet with parents, interpret student progress, and inform parents/guardians about student strengths, weaknesses, and progress. Preference for teachers with a current teaching license in ABS, ASD &/or EBD or another license area & willing to get an Out of Field license (OFP).
Qualifications/Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Preference for teachers with a current teaching license in any of the following: ABS, ASD, EBD, or another subject & willing to get an Out of Field License
Special Job Requirements (Certification, ability to perform certain job duties such as lifting, standing for long periods or typing at a certain speed, computer skills, etc):
Ability to communicate clearly to staff and parents/guardians; Ability to complete all necessary due process paperwork; Work with a team to support students across multiple settings; Ability to lift or transfer 30 lbs.
Beginning Salary Range: Per the Stewartville United Educators' Master Agreement
