Job description
School Director
Characteristics
Who You Are:
You are driven by a deep desire to make a difference and create lasting, measurable impact. You aren't just looking for a job; you are seeking a platform where you can fulfill your life's work. You crave the opportunity to influence your environment, build something meaningful, and innovate within the education space to better serve the rising generation for the challenges that lie ahead.
You?re passionate about working with underserved students and are fiercely committed to empowering them to achieve long-term success in both their lives and careers.
You are an experienced, dynamic leader who balances high expectations with deep empathy. You are known for being both tough and direct when it comes to accountability, yet nurturing and trauma-informed when supporting students and your team.
You insist on being data-driven when making decisions. You take full, uncompromising ownership over your results and all organizational outcomes. You never pass the buck.
You care far more about measurable student impact and team success than titles or accolades.
You are a skilled trainer and coach who loves building teams. Empowering others and building effective, cross-functional groups is in your DNA.
You are committed to excellence and constant growth. You don?t just want to get the job done, you want to implement the best practice for whatever you are doing.
You are a voracious learner who possesses the confidence to tackle new skills and gain mastery over complex topics, yet you also have the humility to be coached and trained yourself.
Your effectiveness as a communicator allows you to interact with a diverse array of stakeholders. You can connect with board members, executive management, central support staff, community partners, or students and their parents. Your voice can represent the school, build trust, foster collaboration, and drive the school's mission forward.
You are a culture-builder who thrives on marshaling resources, fostering community, and driving enrollment and retention. You understand that a school is both an educational institution and a highly operational organization, and you treat both domains with equal rigor.
You are tech-fluent and adaptable. You easily learn new systems, and you embrace AI to streamline your workflow and amplify your impact.
You are autonomous, dependable, and fiercely determined to create a thriving environment where young people can build productive lives after high school.
Who We Are: Our mission is to empower others to achieve their full potential. That includes our students, our partners, and you. We are a network of dropout prevention and recovery charter schools in Ohio committed to helping our students build a life of meaning and impact. Regardless of a student?s background or past, we strive to give them the tools, resources, and vision needed to become the best version of themselves. We believe that when young people gain real-world skills, confidence, and purpose, they can create the futures they desire.
Our schools blend academics, career readiness, and wraparound services that meet the needs of the whole student. We are in constant pursuit of not only serving students in the best way possible but also becoming a pillar in the communities we serve.
Everything we do in our organization is guided by our mission. Our culture is a natural outgrowth of our amazing people, whose lives and work are defined by our governing values of growth, excellence, integrity, service, and teamwork.
