Lead a well-established, high-performing laboratory with strong supervisory support in place. As Director, Laboratory Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of the laboratory, partnering closely with the Laboratory Medical Director to ensure high-quality, compliant, and patient-focused care. This role is ideal for an experienced laboratory leader ready to build on a solid foundation and drive continued excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct all laboratory operations in accordance with regulatory and advisory agency standards.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Medical Director, hospital leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure high-quality laboratory services across the full continuum of care and a positive patient experience.
  • Develop and execute departmental goals, initiatives, and objectives aligned with system mission and strategy.
  • Prepare and manage the annual capital budget while meeting productivity and cost-control standards.
  • Establish performance metrics, evaluate outcomes, and lead continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting bodies, including CAP, CLIA, CMS, FDA, The Joint Commission, Department of Health, and NAACLS.
  • Oversee all personnel functions, including staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide direct oversight of the delivery of laboratory services.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Laboratory leadership experience is preferred.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, or a laboratory-related science required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
  • MT (ASCP) or comparable laboratory certification preferred
