As a licensed insurance sales professional, you will play an important and very active and dynamic role in the life of our agency. Your job will be fast-paced, and will consist of many aspects, requiring a high level of professionalism. You must be able to plan and manage your time to ensure sales goals are met. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenge of developing relationships and generating sales, managing an active pipeline of prospects, presenting the organization and its products and capabilities, strategically cross-selling products aligned with client needs, and introducing technical specialists when needed, to win and retain business.

  • Promptly call sales leads when they are provided to you
  • Develop insurance quotes
  • Make sales presentations

  • Treat each customer contact as a cross and up-sell opportunity including financial products.
  • Provide clients who come to the office to meet with you in person a satisfying customer experience
  • Provide exceptional customer service - make a positive difference in the lives of people in our community.
  • Lead generation activities including: Developing relationships in the business community for cross-referral opportunities, Cold calling, direct email, business networking, building relationships with clients and asking for referrals, marketing to and developing business to business relationships to generate leads and commercial business opportunities, participating in community events to build contacts, finding and developing new clients, and calling sales leads, and transitioning customers to work with specialists as needed to maximize opportunities
  • Foster strong relationships with our customers to maintain a high level of client retention and product loyalty
  • Participate in social networking to generate leads
  • Complete required paperwork and administrative tasks
  • Take responsibility for constantly learning and developing your skills
  • Follow-up activities, including calling-back customers, sending thank you letters, etc.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:
We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our fast-paced agency sales department.

  • Strong sense of professionalism in person and on the phone
  • Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive and resourceful and be coachable.
  • Must possess computer skills including using the Internet, e-mail, Microsoft Office, and skills in social networking
  • Proficiency to multi-task, follow-through, and follow-up.
  • Career minded vision.
  • Must currently possess a Michigan Property & Casualty Insurance License as well as Life & Health prior to hire
  • Must possess a "Sales Mindset" - be capable of handling customer rejection to move on to the next win
  • No sales or insurance experience is required, but previous insurance sales, commissioned sales experience, and other sales experiences, a college education, applicants who currently possess a current P & C License, and previous sales experiences or transferable skills are "pluses" that will be considered in the hiring process.
  • Candidates must be P & C licensed prior to assuming sales position.
