Job description

Evinova enables global life sciences to accelerate better health outcomes through innovative digital health solutions for clinical research. We are a distinct business within the AstraZeneca group - advancing digital transformation across the clinical trial, hospital operations, and patient treatment landscape,

Our team is a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment, and you will often be working with team members across multiple locations around the globe. This is an on-site role.

The Role:

Evinova is on the leading edge of implementing agentic AI at scale in life sciences and is seeking an experienced customer implementation leader for its AI products and solutions. The Evinova AI Product Implementation Leader is responsible for building and leading the Professional Services organization that deploys Evinova's AI-native clinical trial platform - including its Study Designer, Study Document Assistant, and AI Document Authoring products - across a portfolio of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and CROs. This is a foundational and exciting leadership role that combines organization building, hands-on customer delivery, and commercial ownership. The leader will recruit and scale a global professional services team, leading strategic implementations, developing a scalable delivery methodology, and own the professional services P&L. Success in this role requires a rare combination of clinical development domain fluency, AI product deployment experience, enterprise consulting leadership, and the entrepreneurial drive to define a new AI-first implementation methodology as Evinova scales. If you've successfully led implementation of cloud-first SaaS software across life sciences and are already embracing this next wave of innovation with AI, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership - Define and execute the vision for Evinova's customer implementation practice, establishing the operating model, methodology, and organizational structure to deploy established rapidly evolving sponsor-facing AI products (Study Designer, Study Document Assistant, and AI Document Authoring) across a portfolio of top-tier pharma and CRO customers. Translate Evinova's product strategy into a services delivery capability that accelerates customer time-to-value and drives platform adoption.

  • Customer Implementation Ownership - Own end-to-end accountability for the successful deployment of Evinova's AI-native platform across all customer engagements, from initial scoping through go-live and sustained value realization. Serve as the senior-most Delivery sponsor for strategic accounts, maintaining trusted advisor relationships with key customer leadership and ensuring an industry-leading experience for implementation of Evinova's products.

  • AI Product Deployment & Governance - Lead the configuration and deployment of agentic AI capabilities within regulated pharma environments, ensuring that AI and data governance, validation protocols, and human-in-the-loop review processes meet the compliance expectations of global pharmaceutical companies and relevant regulatory authorities (FDA, EMA, PMDA).

  • Organization Building - Build, lead, and scale a high-performing globally-distributed team of implementation professionals with a value delivery model spanning North America, Europe and Asia. Recruit and develop professionals who combine clinical development domain expertise with AI and software implementation skills and business change management.

  • Methodology & Scalability - Codify a repeatable implementation methodology and build reusable accelerators (configuration templates, integration blueprints, validation frameworks, training programs) that enable the organization to scale through process discipline rather than headcount alone. Our products are in the hands of customers, so the ability to iterate while scaling is key.

  • AI-first Mentality - Pioneer AI-first implementation approaches that leverage agentic AI to compress traditional deployment timelines, continuously evaluating where AI can automate or augment manual configuration, testing, and training activities.

  • Partnerships & Ecosystem Contribution - Actively participate in the broader life sciences software and services ecosystem, investing time in commercial/go-to-market partnerships and supporting customers in fostering vendor collaboration across its existing portfolio of solutions.

  • Commercial & Financial Performance - Own the professional services P&L, driving target-based gross margins through disciplined global resource management. Partner with Sales on engagement scoping, pricing strategy, and SOW development. Identify and convert expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

  • Cross-Functional Influence - Serve as the primary feedback channel from customer implementations into Product, Engineering, and AI teams, shaping platform roadmap priorities based on real-world deployment learnings. Partner with Marketing on customer references and thought leadership.

  • Customer Support - develop a comprehensive customer support model and operate in alignment with Evinova's existing global 24x7 customer support center.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in life sciences, or equivalent combination of education and enterprise leadership experience; Six Sigma, PMP, or SAFe certifications valued

  • 10+ years experience building or scaling AI/ML-enabled professional services practices from the ground up, including defining new service lines, pricing models, and delivery frameworks in emerging technology categories

  • Deep knowledge of clinical development and clinical operations organizations and business processes

  • Knowledge of ICH E6 R3 Good Clinical Practice, FDA 21 CFR part 11, EU GDPR, EU AI Act, China Generative AI Measures

  • Proven track record of teamwork in a cross functional setting with internal as well as external partners

  • Ability to challenge the status quo, lead through a vision, take ownership and hold self and others accountable

  • Demonstrated ability to flexibly adapt to rapidly evolving product market positioning and feature roadmaps.

  • Well-developed Senior Stakeholder management skill with together with proven problem-solving, collaboration and interpersonal leadership skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and create clarity.

  • Proven track record of building, scaling, and leading teams of 25-50+ people across multiple geographies, with direct experience managing blended onshore/offshore delivery models.

  • Passion for Customers, representing the needs of multiple customers in decision making and experience driving continuous improvement through a quantified, metrics-based approach.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% globally, including to customer sites across the US, EU, and Asia
