Tax Director (1st Tax Hire)
Our client is a late stage SaaS company in NYC that is experiencing significant year over year growth and is in the process of international expansion. They are looking to hire a Tax Director that will play a key role in the Finance Department as they will be responsible for building out the tax function, hiring a team around them, leading all communication for tax related inquiries, solving complex tax issues and driving compliance.
Responsibilities:
Required Experience:
  • Income Tax Accounting
  • ASC 740
  • Quarterly & Annual Tax Provision
  • Review of US sales tax returns
  • Review of US income tax returns
  • Experience with complex US Federal and State credits/incentives
  • Review and assist with preparation of domestic and international estimated tax payments
  • Review and assist with tax footnote preparation to comply with accounting standards
  • Assist with the establishment and drafting of corporate tax policies
  • Manage internal tax controls
  • Experience collaborating with a team of skilled tax professionals
  • Experience training, developing, and fostering professional growth among a team

Preferred (but not required) Experience
  • Exposure to global transfer pricing rules and regulations
  • Experience leveraging tax technology
  • Exposure to Tax considerations in M&A transactions
  • Experience with ad hoc tax research

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field
  • 10+ years working in the corporate tax function at public companies, and/or with a Big4 tax advisory firm
  • CPA and/or JD with Tax concentration/specialization
  • Experience with Netsuite is a PLUS
