What you will do:
The Indirect Tax Accountant is responsible for multiple entities indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations and reports to the Tax Director. The position involves preparing and filing indirect tax returns: sales tax returns; analyzing financial data; staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations; preparation and filing of business tax registrations; and the review, issuance, and management of tax exemption certificates. Participation in special projects and other duties as required.
Essential Functions:
- Preparation and filing of various sales/use tax returns for multiple entities and states.
- Managing Sales/use tax audits.
- Monthly filing of State Annual Reports
- Preparation of some basic foreign tax returns as needed.
- Answer general tax questions related to sales and use tax.
- Gather information to Prepare US Residency Certification on a yearly basis for shareholders, trustees, and beneficiaries.
- Prepare tax withholding and other informational forms as needed (1099s, CA 592's, FBAR).
- Respond to sales tax notices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Knowledge of Adobe.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines by effectively prioritizing work.
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
- Experience in tax research.
- Will handle miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
Non-essential Functions:
- Experience with ProSystems Fx and Caseware preferred.
