Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Lead implementation of domestic ground transportation solutions (LTL, FTL, final mile, brokerage, parcel).
  • Serve as executive point of contact during onboarding for ground accounts.
  • Develop detailed implementation plans covering pricing alignment, carrier procurement, routing guide development, EDI/API integration, reporting configuration, and SOP creation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including operations, IT, carrier relations, finance, and sales to ensure smooth launch.
  • Identify operational risks specific to domestic ground networks and proactively mitigate issues prior to go-live.
  • Establish KPIs for service, cost, and carrier performance
  • Drive post-launch stabilization and conduct formal implementation review assessing operational, financial, and service performance.
  • Standardize ground implementation processes and documentation to drive scalability and repeatability.
  • Escalate and resolve client, operational or carrier-related service issues during transition and early lifecycle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. ground transportation markets, including LTL classifications, FTL spot and contract markets, parcel carrier structures, and brokerage operations.
  • Strong understanding of domestic carrier capacity cycles and pricing dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success implementing multi-site domestic shipping programs.
  • Financial acumen with ability to analyze margins, cost models, and network impact.
  • Ability to drive accountability across operations and carrier management teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills with carriers and customers.
  • Ability to operate under tight implementation timelines without sacrificing service quality.
  • Advanced proficiency in TMS platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and clients

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in U.S. domestic ground transportation.
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience managing implementation or operational teams.
  • Experience working with LTL, FTL, brokerage, and parcel carriers required.
  • Proven track record launching mid-to-large domestic ground accounts.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
