Project Manager (HFC / FTTH Construction)

Location: Piscataway, NJ

Pay: $38–$42/hour

Overview

We are partnering with a leading telecommunications provider that is investing heavily in network expansion and infrastructure upgrades throughout the New Jersey market. This position will support large-scale Edge Out and Mid-Split initiatives designed to expand service availability, increase bandwidth capacity, and enhance network performance across the region.

This is a highly visible, field-focused role responsible for overseeing construction vendors, validating work quality, tracking project progress, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HFC, FTTH, or CATV construction projects and be comfortable spending the majority of their time in the field overseeing active construction activities.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 3+ years of telecommunications or OSP construction experience
  • Experience supporting HFC, CATV, FTTH, or broadband construction projects
  • Strong understanding of Mid-Split, Node Split, or network upgrade initiatives
  • Experience managing vendors and subcontractors in a construction environment
  • Experience performing construction quality control inspections
  • Familiarity with as-builts, redlines, and construction documentation
  • Experience utilizing SiteTracker or similar project management platforms
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the NJ market

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Edge Out construction projects
  • Experience validating contractor invoicing and production quantities
  • Knowledge of aerial and underground OSP construction practices
  • Previous experience working for a cable, telecommunications, or broadband provider

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage construction activities supporting HFC and FTTH Edge Out projects throughout New Jersey
  • Spend approximately 70–75% of the work week in the field overseeing contractor activity and production
  • Verify vendors are actively working in assigned locations and performing work efficiently
  • Conduct field inspections and quality control reviews of completed construction work
  • Validate contractor performance against project schedules and construction milestones
  • Review and approve as-builts, redlines, and construction documentation
  • Support invoice validation by confirming completed field work and installed quantities
  • Identify project risks, construction challenges, and schedule impacts
  • Maintain project records and status updates within SiteTracker
  • Ensure all work is being completed according to engineering designs, safety requirements, and construction standards

Project Coordination Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with engineering, permitting, construction, and operations teams
  • Manage communication between internal stakeholders and construction vendors
  • Provide leadership with regular project updates, progress reports, and risk assessments
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and safety requirements are consistently met
  • Resolve field issues and maintain project schedules across multiple active workstreams
  • Support successful project delivery from construction kickoff through completion

Work Environment

  • Approximately 75% field-based throughout the New Jersey market
  • Approximately 25% office-based work in Piscataway, NJ
  • Frequent travel between active construction sites
  • Direct interaction with contractors, vendors, engineers, and operations teams

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
