FTTH Design Engineer

Location: Remote  Type: Full-Time Contract Duration: Expected 1-2 year assignment with potential for ongoing work based on project needs Schedule: 40 hours per week

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced FTTH Design Engineer to support fiber network design initiatives and the review of existing fiber infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a skilled designer who can work efficiently, maintain design quality standards, and contribute to the successful delivery of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) projects.

The successful candidate will have FTTH design experience, advanced proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and the ability to quickly evaluate, revise, and produce high-quality fiber network designs. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and support project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify FTTH network designs using ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
  • Review, audit, and revise existing fiber network designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with established engineering standards.
  • Incorporate design updates based on municipal comments, permitting requirements, field conditions, and project changes.
  • Generate construction-ready plan sets using established tools, processes, and workflows within the ArcGIS Pro environment.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including construction teams, permitting personnel, contractors, and project management staff to clarify requirements and resolve design issues.
  • Maintain design quality, consistency, and compliance throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Support ongoing efforts to improve and standardize legacy network designs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of FTTH design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro required.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and revising fiber optic networks.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of FTTH engineering principles, network architecture, and construction practices.
