Position Summary:

As a Lead Director - Digital Engineering you will provide strategic leadership and oversee the digital engineering function, AetnaHealth Pharmacy, IDCards, SecureChat and Claims etc. capabilities, which enables members to manage health benefits based on their personal preferences.

You will manage a team of engineers, defines technical strategies and roadmaps, ensures successful project delivery, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Coordinates with stakeholders, allocates resources, drives technical excellence, and creates alignment between business goals and technical solutions to ensure continuous improvement of digital engineering capabilities within the organization.

What you will do:

  • Provides leadership and expertise in defining the technical architecture and design principles for digital solutions
  • Oversees and manages digital engineering projects and programs, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the digital engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization's goals
  • Evaluates the relevance and potential impact of new technologies on the organization's digital engineering capabilities
  • Establishes and maintains quality assurance processes, standards, and best practices within digital engineering
  • Drives innovation initiatives within digital engineering, promoting a culture of creativity, experimentation, and learning
  • Ensures adherence to coding standards, software development methodologies, and testing practices to deliver high-quality digital solutions
  • Contributes to long-term planning, technology adoption strategies, and innovation initiatives to drive digital transformation
  • Leads a team of digital engineers and technical professionals, and provides guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their success and professional growth

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of work experience in building large scale distributed systems
  • 5+ years of experience incloudnative architectures(AWS, GCP, Azure), APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams (NodeJs, Postgresql, Kafka, GraphQL and Terraform etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading search solutions - retrieval of information with high relevancy and low latency
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and time management abilities
  • Experience with optimization skills to improve performance, scalability, and usability of our applications
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, structural design, and system optimization
  • Experience with agile development, SAFe Agile

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
