Position Overview

The One 23 Group is seeking a Technical Director – Digital Engineering to support the execution and growth of advanced engineering programs supporting the Department of War, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, and Federal Civilian agencies.


This role serves as the senior technical lead responsible for guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, software engineering, cloud modernization, DevSecOps, data analytics, and AI-enabled mission capabilities. Working closely with Program Managers, Capture Managers, executive leadership, and government customers, you will help ensure successful program execution while supporting strategic growth initiatives across our portfolio.


This position is ideal for an experienced technical leader who enjoys solving complex customer challenges, mentoring engineering teams, and delivering innovative solutions within mission-critical environments.


Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, software development, cloud engineering, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, data analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Mentor technical staff and foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture focused on quality, innovation, and mission success.
  • Guide technical decision-making and ensure engineering solutions align with customer objectives, security requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Promote engineering standards, documentation, configuration management, and continuous process improvement.
Program Execution
  • Partner with Program Managers to successfully execute complex federal technology programs.
  • Provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
  • Translate customer requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Coordinate technical activities across internal teams, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders.
Solution Architecture & Engineering
  • Support the design and implementation of secure, scalable enterprise solutions leveraging cloud-native architectures, APIs, automation, and modern engineering practices.
  • Guide the integration of Modeling & Simulation, Digital Engineering, AI-enabled analytics, and visualization technologies into customer solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches that improve mission effectiveness.
  • Ensure solutions align with cybersecurity, Zero Trust, and federal compliance requirements.
Customer Engagement & Growth
  • Build trusted relationships with government customers and technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, solution demonstrations, and customer briefings.
  • Support proposal development, technical solutioning, white papers, and capture activities.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Capture teams to shape future opportunities and expand customer relationships.

Requirements:QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience leading technical teams supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, DHS, or Federal Civilian customers.
  • Experience delivering enterprise software, Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, DevSecOps, cloud modernization, systems engineering, or AI-enabled solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and systems engineering principles.
  • Experience engaging directly with government customers and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred
  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience supporting technical proposals, capture efforts, and transition planning.
  • Knowledge of MBSE, Digital Twins, Unity, Unreal Engine, or Modeling & Simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, and modern DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled mission applications, data engineering, and advanced analytics.
  • PMP, Agile, SAFe, or related professional certifications.
