ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of AI and Automation supports the strategic direction, development, and implementation of AI, RPA, and other technologies in support of automation at MVB. This position works closely with lines of business and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI driven innovation, to develop comprehensive AI strategies and oversee the execution of AI projects. The Director of AI and Automation will ensure that MVB remains at the forefront of AI advancements and adheres to ethical standards, regulations, and governance practices. The Director of AI and Automation reports directly to the Head of Data and Automation within the CIO team
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop and implement strategies for leveraging Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Robotic Process Automation to automate workflows, tasks, or decisions that increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, engaging with business leaders, architecting scalable solutions and driving informed decisions across the organization
  • Design, implement, and maintain an MVB AI and Automation Playbook that serves as the guidelines for onboarding and maintaining AI and Automation technologies at MVB.
  • Work with the BTO, Stakeholders and technical leads to translate business goals into technical solutions
  • Define and provide oversight to AI/ML/RPA best practices and lifecycle, including model training, maintenance, and optimization
  • Establish key metrics for monitoring the effectiveness, safety, and efficacy of AI/ML technologies at MVB
  • Responsible for the AI Governance Framework, working closely with Data Governance and Information security to ensure the appropriate policies, controls, and oversight are in place and effective
  • Develop and evolve AI and emerging technology training for end users
  • Foster a culture of engagement and continuous learning within the MVB end user community
  • Manage AI and Automation vendor relationships and ensure compliance to all agreements with MVB.
  • Analyze performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of AI and automation initiatives and identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Design and lead Pilots and POCs, operational tests, and monitored deployments of automation technologies (AI, RPA,etc) to strengthen business case assumptions and optimize for scalability
  • Analyze process automation requirements and design RPA solutions, architecture, and logic in collaboration with the Business Transformation Office

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as AI, Data Science, information systems, statistics, or another related field
  • Master's degree in a related field such as an MBA, MS or PHD in AI, MS in Data Science, MS in Information Systems, or MS in Data Analytics preferred but not required.

  • Minimum of -10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, data analytics, predictive analytics, another relevant field
  • Experience leading teams of data analysts, data engineers, developers, or other related professionals
  • Experience developing and implementing AI and automation (RPA, etc.)
  • Experience with AI and automation technologies.
  • Experience working with enterprise-level systems and other large-scale data platforms.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with data quality and data security best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to AI governance
  • Must have a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen to effectively manage an organization's AI and Automation programs.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.

  • Relevant professional certifications may be preferred or required.
