Position Summary/Overview:
Key Concepts Knowledgebase, LLC., is seeking an AI/Automation Engineer for a project at a large government support organization. The successful candidate will work with our IT managers, engineers, technicians, and the client to help with transforming how the organization digitizes forms, processes and automate workflows. Assisting with existing, modern platform that utilizes Microsoft's latest suite of enterprise AI tools and services.
Position Requirements
The AI/Automation Engineer key requirement/responsibilities are as follows:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current applications and operational processes landscape and document existing gaps and opportunities for AI and Automation
  • Propose solutions and recommendations for system enhancements, including software updates, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Oversee the AI/ML and automation development lifecycle, including architecture design, experimentation, and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Cybersecurity) to integrate AI and automation into production environments
  • Research and evaluate emerging AI/ML tools, technologies, and frameworks to drive innovation
  • Ensure all solutions meet federal security, compliance, and cloud architecture standards
  • Develop project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members, stakeholders and business partners
  • Developing clean code, debugging, teamwork workflows, version control, developing against APIs, developing using cloud basics and deployment pipelines
  • Building and deploying intelligent agents and agentic workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Agent 365 to automate complex, multi-step business functions.
  • Designing and optimizing automation pipelines using Microsoft Power Automate, including AI Builder to infuse AI into Power Apps and automated processes.

Technical Requirements (required and desired - specify):
Required-
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate, Azure Open AI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Agent 365, Microsoft Purview, GitHub for version control, Visual Studio Code, Python, C#, Microsoft Azure AI Services, Azure Machine Learning.
  • Minimum of eight 5 to 8 years' overall relevant experience development and automation experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML and automation solution development
  • Four years' proven work experience as an AI Engineer or similar role in automation
  • Prior experience with federal or public sector digital modernization projects
  • Experience designing effective prompts and validating AI-generated output

Desired-
  • NIH experience
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, Zero Trust Architecture, RMF and FedRAMP compliance

Training and Certifications:
  • Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102), Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900), or specialized AI & ML Professional Certificates. Microsoft Certified: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect

Education-
  • A degree in any related field and 3+ years of experience. Years of experience may be substituted for BS degree

Other:
  • Must be able to obtain and/or pass a public trust background check. Must be able to work flexible hours and multiple locations.
