Job description

The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Summary

Simplot is looking for a dynamic and experienced Digital Communications and Brand Manager to help support brand growth, reputation management, and public relations across digital platforms. This position sits within the Company’s Global Communications and Brand and is responsible for managing the Company’s global social media strategy and delivery, and global media monitoring and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy, completeness, and brand compliance as well as deep functional and operational expertise in social media and digital communication trends. This includes experience in the development and/or management of a broad social media environment for a large organization with a variety of social media platforms.

Success in this position will include the use of social media and media monitoring to drive awareness and traffic to other owned media for Simplot, inviting and facilitating audiences to engage with the company brand. The digital communications manager will help strengthen and enhance Simplot’s reputation in the communities where it operates by facilitating social media engagement and other public relations tools. They will also ensure awareness of trends and sentiment related to Simplot and the Simplot Brand by maintaining a robust social and traditional media monitoring program. Additional responsibilities include assisting in public relations and community relations activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for helping implement Company social media strategy, campaigns and content calendars that build engagement and support broader communication objectives.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of digital platforms, as well as report analytics that drive key initiatives and Company objectives.
  • Use media monitoring tools and analyze analytics to provide actionable insights and leadership reports.
  • Research and identify emerging technologies that can enhance digital communication efforts.
  • Manage multiple digital platforms and advise on the adoption of new digital tools and platforms to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Align social strategy with our Company brand identity and broader content initiatives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and social media managers representing different areas of the business to assist with digital content decisions and approval.
  • Edit and review social media plans and content and broader communications materials to effectively execute on project deliverables.
  • Help create channel-specific social media content for Simplot’s social platforms.
  • Produces, edits, and publishes weekly content that aligns with the Company’s strategic goals.
  • Assist communications and public relations activities through the development and execution of social media campaigns.
  • Support the development and production of photo/video assets to be leveraged across social media channels.
  • Research and analyze new platforms, trends and social media industry opportunities.
Typical Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Relevant Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in social media and/or marketing and communications for a large and diverse company.
  • Experience with media monitoring platforms and reporting
