About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Creative Production, they will assist with the ideation, creation, and evaluation of compelling written and social content for the Athletic Department's Tyee Club and Big W Club. This position will help develop and implement a robust digital communications strategy; support the daily operation of our social media channels; help generate, write, edit and curate content for our donor magazine; and provide copy writing and editing for other donor and alumni communication projects, under the direction and approval of the Assistant Director.
Key Responsibilities
Write / edit all Tyee Club and Big W Club content, maintaining a clear, consistent donor-centric or alumni-centric voice throughout. Projects may include but are not limited to emails, print materials, web pages, social media posts, speeches, talking points, video scripts, acknowledgement letters, donor proposals, PowerPoint presentations, campaign messaging platforms, and our donor magazine. This position would route drafts for feedback and final approval, fact-check, and edit for readability and style. (20%)
Ideate, curate, and produce assets for social media, including graphics, videos, and photography, with assistance from the Assistant Director, videographer, and Tyee staff. (20%)
Cover Tyee Club and Big W Club events on social, coordinating with Tyee and Athletics' staff to film and photograph when applicable. (15%)
Write, post, and monitor content on the Tyee Club and Big W Club social media channels, maintaining a consistent voice in all posts and replies. (15%)
Manage the production of The Tyee Difference magazine and annual Gratitude Report from start to finish, including scheduling editorial meetings, conducting interviews, gathering data and lists, writing / editing all stories, routing drafts for approval, curating / scheduling photography, and coordinating with the Assistant Director to complete design, and print and mail the final publications. (10%)
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Creative Production, develop and implement a robust social media strategy for the Tyee Club and Big W Club to help us create compelling content that increases followers and overall engagement. (10%)
Review analytics and provide insights and suggestions for future social media and digital campaigns and content. (5%)

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington, and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and competing priorities.
Strong understanding of current social media landscape and trends.
Familiarity with AP Style and best practices for digital writing.
Experience editing photos and writing copies for social media.
Understanding of social media analytics, including experience in measuring performance, testing content, learning from insights, and iterating to optimize results.
Strong writing and editing skills with high attention to detail and proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences across platforms.
Experience posting and managing social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads).
Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and to collaborate as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Content creation skills are desired: ability to create graphics from Photoshop templates, ability to take photos at events, and film / edit video for social platforms.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop and Premier Pro / Premiere Rush).
Familiarity with email marketing platforms, such as Marketo, Customer Insights - Journeys and Thank View.
Typical Schedule
Averages approximately 4-20 hours per week, vary upon project needs.
During active production periods, hours may increase up to 40-hour workweek.
During off-peak periods between projects, hours may drop to none or minimal (0-4 hours), with occasional support for social media and small writing or editing tasks.
Working Conditions
This position would operate in a hybrid format, with the employee's primary work location being their home/residency. They may be required to come on-site for a few hours, or occasionally for full days each month, to attend meetings or support special events with social media coverage.
