Role Overview
This position is a field-based, relationship-driven sales role responsible for building referral partnerships and increasing billable hours across our Central Alabama territory. Ultimately, success is measured by increased census, strong community presence, and long-term partnerships built on trust and consistent follow-through.
The Opportunity
To advance and expand Synergy HomeCare's presence in the senior care market, we are seeking a Business Development Manager with a background in marketing and sales. This individual will manage referral sources and families in a coordinated manner. Responsibilities include leading daily sales activities, collaborating with the Scheduler, Office Manager, and other team members to monitor goals related to billable hours, client numbers, revenue, quality, and providing weekly updates on results and networking activities.
Success in this role means building strong referral relationships that generate consistent, high-quality client leads and measurable revenue growth
Essential Duties
The Business Development Manager oversees the sales and marketing operations, ensuring engagement with referral sources and continuous business momentum. This role requires consistent field presence, disciplined follow-up and weekly performance reporting directly to the owner.
  • Maintain consistent weekly field activity with documented outreach and follow-up.
  • Actively represent Synergy HomeCare at targeted networking events and senior-focused community groups.
  • Empowered to establish strategic partnerships.
  • Deliver Radical Candor to enhance client relations and operational excellence
  • Update databases for prospects, clients, and referral sources.
  • Support and promote all company policies and procedures.

Business Growth
  • Proactively identify the needs of referral sources and families.
  • Develop new business by broadening relationships and promoting creative, strategic ideas to referral sources and senior communities.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships, foster partnerships or organize partnership events.

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, candidates must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements outlined below reflect the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Experience & Skills
  • Preferred: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Two to three years' experience in marketing, networking, or securing referrals in the medical or non-medical field is highly desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation of networking activities.
  • Experience presenting to health care clients (referral sources and families); B2B and B2C experience is ideal.
  • Mastery of presentation software (such as PowerPoint and Google Slides) and meeting software (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet).
  • Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet software (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Developing knowledge and experience using AI tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Amazon Rufus, etc., for support in problem-solving, brief development, strategic or creative thinking, and management.
