POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Coordinator supports fundraising and donor engagement efforts that sustain and grow the JCC’s impact as a vibrant center for Jewish life and community connection. This role supports the execution of development strategies, campaigns, and events. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about Jewish communal life and eager to grow in the field of nonprofit development.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Support grants, sponsorships, fundraising, and annual giving initiatives that advance the JCC’s mission and programs
  • Assist in the identification, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition of donors, sponsors, and community partners
  • Prepare donor-facing materials including appeals and acknowledgment letters.  
  • Track donor activity, pledges, and engagement to ensure timely, thoughtful follow-up and stewardship

Events & Community Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of signature JCC fundraising, board, and community events including Hall of Fame, JLive, Block Party, and Maccabi
  • Coordinate event logistics including vendor management, timelines, registration, invitation lists, and event materials
  • Provide on-site event support, including evenings and occasional weekends

Database & Gift Processing

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM system and special events database
  • Process gifts in NPSP and generate timely acknowledgment letters, tax receipts, and related donor documentation
  • Track donor engagement and ensure data integrity for reporting, segmentation, and communications

Communications & Marketing Support

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing fundraising, donor, and event communications, including marketing materials, email, and social media content
  • Collaborate with marketing staff to ensure alignment of messaging across JCC campaigns, centers and programs

Research & Administrative Support

  • Conduct prospect research to support the expansion of corporate sponsors and community engagement strategies
  • Assist with grant writing, reporting, and tracking
  • Support recognition and community-building initiatives to include awards, honors, and volunteer engagement

  • Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination, note-taking, and tracking follow-up for the development team
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, event planning, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with the Jewish community, Jewish communal organizations, or a strong interest in Jewish life and values
  • Experience working with volunteers or lay leaders preferred
  • Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, NPSP) strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning new systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a high level of discretion
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and donor engagement

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary (or Salary Range): $55,000-$65,000
