Job Summary:
Kadant Solutions Division is a company that develops and markets systems used in process industries worldwide. The IT Desktop Technician will be responsible for administering the desktop computing environment, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient operation of desktop systems.
Responsibilities:
• Use ticketing system to track problems and escalate issues to the appropriate level when required.
• Provides desktop support and resolves problems related to the computing environment.
• Ensures that the desktop environment is running efficiently through monitoring and optimization.
• Create, modify, and maintain users and groups in domain environment.
• Document all termination changes for audit compliance.
• Install and configure network printers.
• Perform computer and software upgrades.
• Follow through with users to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinates, tests, and implements technical solutions for multiple projects individually or part of a team.
• Monitor's desktop environment using hardware and software monitoring tools; manages system patching.
• Maintains tools to conduct hardware and software inventory. Maintain proper inventory levels.
• Manages supplies and the vendors that provide them.
• Serves as the technical lead in the evaluation and recommendation of new desktop technologies.
• Coordinates service calls with service providers to ensure satisfactory resolution of problems.
• Deploy and troubleshoot problems for all outside sales, service, and other department personnel.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Customer Service centric and actively looking for ways to help user base.
• Able to troubleshoot basic and advanced desktop and network issues.
• Ability to methodically work problems to resolution.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, software distribution, PC imaging.
• Able to produce easy to understand documentation.
• Associates Degree and or HS Diploma.
• 5-7 years prior experience in Microsoft desktop management & IT systems.
• Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint.
• Understanding of network principles.
• Able to lift, carry or move weights up to 40 lbs.
• Work in shop conditions with moving equipment, noise, dust, and temperature swings.
Preferred:
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Backup and recovery experience (Veeam a plus)
