Job description

Recruiting at Brex

Recruiting is where every career at Brex begins. We're the first point of connection for future builders and leaders, helping candidates see what's possible. We partner with leaders across the company to find exceptional talent and build high-performing teams. We move quickly, think strategically, and take pride in creating a thoughtful, welcoming candidate experience from the very first contact. We don't just fill roles-we shape the culture at Brex by hiring the designers who define how our products look, feel, and function.

What you'll do

This role is responsible for partnering with hiring managers and design leadership to define team needs and role requirements, ensuring alignment on hiring goals across Product Design, Brand Design, and Design Leadership.

You'll source, engage, and assess world-class design talent through diverse channels, while managing the full recruitment lifecycle from outreach to onboarding. You will develop strategies to attract and retain diverse design talent, proactively building pipelines for both immediate and long-term hiring needs.

You'll track and analyze key hiring metrics to improve recruiting effectiveness, collaborate cross-functionally to ensure fair and consistent evaluation practices, and champion Brex's employer brand within the design community. This includes representing Brex at design events, portfolio reviews, and on relevant social platforms.

Where you'll work

This role will be based in our San Francisco office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead sourcing and outreach efforts for design roles, leveraging recruiting platforms, creative communities, portfolio sites, and social networks.
  • Recruit across various Design roles, including Product Design, Brand/Visual Design, and Design Leadership.
  • Screen and evaluate candidate portfolios, craft quality, systems thinking, and collaboration skills.
  • Partner closely with design leaders to calibrate on craft standards, hiring bar, and team composition.
  • Coordinate and facilitate interview processes, including portfolio reviews and design exercises, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to hiring managers and stakeholders on pipeline health and recruiting progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate data in recruiting systems and dashboards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of recruiting processes, inclusive hiring practices, and candidate experience.
  • Help shape and promote Brex's design employer brand within the broader design community.
Requirements
  • Proven experience recruiting for design roles (e.g., Product Design and Brand Design) in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong sourcing skills and familiarity with AI tools, recruiting platforms, and other creative talent networks.
  • Ability to assess design portfolios and understand craft, systems thinking, and user-centered methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret recruiting metrics and drive process improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously.
Bonus points
  • Experience recruiting design leaders or building design teams from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with compensation strategy and market analysis for design roles.
  • Prior experience in employer branding or talent marketing initiatives focused on the design community.
  • Experience hiring across multiple geographies (e.g., US, Canada, LATAM).
Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $142,380-$195,490. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Please be aware, job-seekers may be at risk of targeting by malicious actors looking for personal data. Brex recruiters will only reach out via LinkedIn or email with a brex.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Brex via other sources should be ignored.
