About the Role

Our client looking for a Senior Design Recruiter to own and drive our design hiring from end to end. You'll partner closely with our design leadership to build world-class product, UX, and visual design teams as we scale. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape not just who we hire, but how we hire - defining our candidate experience, refining our sourcing strategy, and raising the bar for design talent across the company. This role is a six-month contract that could get extended or turn into full time. The role is hybrid in Redwood City. You are asked to come on-site at least one day a week to be considered for conversion. If you're not interested in conversion, fully remote is acceptable, but candidates must still live in the Bay Area.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full recruiting lifecycle for design roles - from sourcing and screening to offer and close - across product design, UX research, motion, and brand
  • Partner deeply with design leadership and hiring managers to understand team needs, craft compelling role briefs, and align on hiring criteria
  • Build and maintain a proactive pipeline of top design talent through creative sourcing, community engagement, portfolio review, and referrals
  • Develop and evolve our approach to evaluating design candidates, including portfolio reviews, structured interviews, and design exercises
  • Champion a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects our values and brand
  • Use data to track recruiting metrics, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across the hiring funnel.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 3 years focused specifically on design roles (product design, UX, brand, research, or related)
  • Deep familiarity with the design landscape - you know how to read a portfolio, what good looks like, and where to find exceptional talent
  • Experience hiring at a fast-moving startup or high-growth tech company
  • Strong ability to build trust with designers and creative leaders; you speak their language
  • Skilled at sourcing passive candidates through LinkedIn, Dribbble, portfolio sites, and design communities
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using an ATS and recruiting analytics tools
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills - you manage multiple searches without dropping the ball
