Optum Bank is seeking an Associate Director of Deposit Operations to provide operational leadership supporting the Bank's expanding deposit portfolio, digital banking capabilities, and strategic growth initiatives. This role translates strategic objectives into scalable operational capabilities, supports readiness for new products and services, and partners across Product, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Treasury, and Operations to drive execution, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
The Associate Director will lead operational staff and serve as a key partner in effective day-to-day execution, process improvement, and sustainable support model development
Must reside in or near Eden Prairie, MN or Draper, UT and be available to work onsite 4 days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead implementation and execution of deposit operations initiatives in support of the Bank's core operations strategy and expanding deposit product portfolio
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for deposit operations activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and strong service delivery
  • Lead operational readiness for new products, services, capabilities, customer-facing enhancements, digital banking enhancements, platform integrations, and core banking capabilities
  • Translate product and business requirements into scalable operational processes, procedures, controls, workflows, staffing needs, and service models
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Treasury, and Operations stakeholders to support implementation of new capabilities, process improvement, issue resolution, and risk mitigation
  • Oversee key deposit operations workflows, including account servicing, onboarding support, account maintenance, transaction processing, exception handling, reconciliations, and related operational activities
  • Develop, maintain, and improve operational procedures, documentation, controls, governance routines, and performance measures, including quality, timeliness, productivity, inventory, issue trends, and service-level performance
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for operational team members while promoting accountability, professional growth, customer focus, risk awareness, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in banking operations
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within banking operations
  • Experience leading operational teams, programs, cross-functional initiatives, operational readiness efforts, or process implementation in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Experience supporting deposit operations, account servicing, onboarding, transaction processing, reconciliations, or related banking operations
  • Experience designing and improving operational processes, controls, workflows
  • Knowledge of ACH, wire transfers, file exchanges, account maintenance, user access management, deposit account servicing, and banking regulations related to deposit operations
  • Solid knowledge of operational controls, operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and process governance
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, identify operational impacts, escalate risks, drive execution, and communicate effectively with business partners and senior leadership
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Reside in or near Eden Prairie, MN or Draper, UT and be available to work onsite 4 days per week

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting deposit products, transaction processing, account servicing, digital banking capabilities, or related banking operations
  • Experience leading new product launches, platform implementations, operating model development, or large-scale operational transformation initiatives
  • Experience developing operating models, workforce plans, scalable support structures, operational metrics, dashboards, capacity plans, quality measures, or service-level performance frameworks
  • Experience with core banking platforms, CRM platforms, workflow/case management tools, servicing systems, or digital banking platforms
  • Experience with process mapping, procedure development, consultation, analytics, continuous improvement methodologies, and stakeholder influencing

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
