This is a Banking Position


The Vice President of Deposit Operations plays a critical leadership role within the bank’s operations team, partnering closely with senior leadership to execute strategic initiatives and oversee all deposit-related operational functions. This position provides direction and accountability across item processing, deposit services, electronic payments, debit card operations, and call center activities. The VP ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and consistent delivery of high-quality service while driving efficiency, risk management, and continuous improvement. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced banking operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and values collaboration, accountability, and strong internal controls.


Requirements

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all deposit operations functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in daily execution
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear goals, performance expectations, and operational initiatives
  • Maintain strong internal controls and risk mitigation practices across deposit services, ACH, wires, debit cards, and item processing
  • Monitor operational metrics, reconciliations, exception reporting, and risk indicators to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including Reg CC, Reg E, NACHA, UCC, OFAC, and BSA/AML
  • Oversee documentation, review, and maintenance of departmental procedures and workflows
  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex operational, customer, or compliance-related matters
  • Act as primary liaison for audits, regulatory exams, and independent reviews; ensure timely remediation of findings
  • Lead business continuity planning, testing, and operational readiness initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally with Retail, Finance, IT, Compliance, and other internal teams to support enterprise initiatives
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and system optimization efforts
  • Support system upgrades, release cycles, and operational testing activities
  • Coach, mentor, and develop operational leaders while promoting a culture of accountability and service excellence


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7–10 years of banking experience with a strong focus on deposit operations
  • 3+ years of experience leading operational teams
  • Deep knowledge of deposit operations, electronic payments, item processing, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with core banking and operational platforms such as Fiserv and related systems preferred
  • Familiarity with call center and IVR solutions a plus
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
