The Opportunity

The Demand Planner plays a critical role in the North America Demand Planning process by owning and developing accurate 18-month rolling forecasts for assigned customer accounts. This position partners with Sales, Supply Planning, and cross-functional stakeholders to build a consensus-based demand plan that supports business performance and supply chain efficiency.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities and the ability to build effective working relationships to establish a shared understanding of key demand drivers. The Demand Planner analyzes data, identifies trends, and supports the development of actionable insights to improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and analyze forecasting metrics (accuracy, bias, forecast value add) to identify improvement opportunities and enhance forecast performance; analyze weekly POS, inventory, shipments, and demand signals, translating findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Act as the primary demand planning point of contact for assigned accounts, partnering with Sales and Supply Planning to confirm product availability, align on demand assumptions, and incorporate promotions, new items, and risks and opportunities into the forecast
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by assisting with ad hoc analysis, tools, and projects that enhance forecasting processes, data visibility, and overall team effectiveness
  • Own and maintain accurate 18-month rolling forecasts for assigned accounts; partner with Sales and Supply Planning to incorporate demand drivers, promotions, and new product initiatives into the demand plan
  • Analyze historical performance (shipments, POS, forecast metrics) alongside forward-looking assumptions to make timely, data-driven adjustments in a dynamic environment
  • Aggregate and evaluate key demand drivers including historical trends, seasonality, promotions, and customer-specific POS and inventory data to improve forecast reliability
  • Apply forecasting best practices using statistical models, system tools, and data-driven insights to continuously improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias
  • Identify root causes of forecast variances and proactively recommend corrective actions and process improvements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Supply Chain Management or related area; APICS/IBF or other advanced degree preferred
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics within a CPG or similarly fast-paced environment preferred; demonstrated ability to translate data into business insights and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
