Job Title: Import Coordinator
Position Summary:The Import Coordinator is responsible for analyzing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating inbound production receipts from global sourcing partners to meet customer demand. This role works closely with the Import Scheduling Agent, as well as the Strategic Planning and Customer Service teams, to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient flow of materials through the supply chain.
Position Responsibilities:
โ€ข Review unconfirmed backorder files and confirm orders based on product availability and expected receiving dates from external suppliers
โ€ข Partner with the Strategic Planning team to optimize the global planning platform for both new and existing production items
โ€ข Evaluate and determine placement of new and existing products based on global partner lead times, customer-required delivery dates, and pricing considerations
โ€ข Purchase and schedule receipts for all imported finished and greige goods sourced from CHF global partners
โ€ข Coordinate with global fabric suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure timely shipment delivery and adherence to best-practice pricing
โ€ข Enter purchase orders accurately and on a timely basis to support customer demand and product availability
โ€ข Maintain and update purchase orders, communicating changes promptly to global partners as requirements evolve
โ€ข Review and analyze inventory positions and backorder reports against actual usage, and communicate risks or concerns to management
โ€ข Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to prioritize items for review and production scheduling
โ€ข Review items used by multiple customers to ensure backorder quantities accurately reflect total yardage requirements across accounts
โ€ข Support Customer Service and Scheduling teams with backorder maintenance as needed
โ€ข Update the AS400 system to reflect changes in requirements and order status
โ€ข Maintain and update the outsourcing style file as new styles are approved for production at external vendors
โ€ข Coordinate with and provide backup support to the Import Scheduling Agent as required
โ€ข Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Role Qualifications/Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Prior Import / Export experience desired.
  • Strong computer experience required. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word a must. AS400 experience desired.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Customer Service experience desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Commitment to company values.

Education requirements:
  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Some college preferred
