Job purpose

The Associate Demand Planner is a key member of the Supply Chain team and is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and accuracy of the demand forecast for assigned pharmaceutical products. This role plays an important part in ensuring uninterrupted product availability by partnering closely with Commercial, Finance, and Customer Service teams. The Associate Demand Planner conducts market and business reviews, analyzes demand trends, and utilizes forecasting best practices to support proactive supply planning. The ideal candidate is customer focused, highly analytical, and eager to understand market behavior within the pharmaceutical industry.

Duties and responsibilities

Demand Forecasting & Supply Chain Planning

  • Support the monthly demand forecasting process for assigned products in alignment with Supply Chain planning cycles.
  • Analyze historical sales, market trends, seasonality, and promotional activity to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Update and maintain demand planning systems, reports, and documentation to ensure data accuracy and visibility for the Supply Chain organization.
  • Perform forecast variance analysis and communicate drivers of change and potential risks/opportunities to Supply Chain leadership.

Market & Business Reviews

  • Contribute to monthly meetings by preparing data for market and business reviews.
  • Monitor competitive activity, product lifecycle changes, and shifts in market demand.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, bias, inventory health, and service levels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Finance teams to understand market drivers, promotional plans, new product launches, and discontinuations.
  • Work collaboratively with Supply Planning and Customer Service to ensure alignment between demand signals and supply strategies.
  • Communicate forecast updates, service risks, and demand changes to internal stakeholders.

Customer Focus & Trend Monitoring

  • Track customer orders, inventory patterns, and purchasing behavior to identify emerging trends and potential supply impacts.
  • Conduct market trend analyses, including prescription data and demand fluctuations across distribution channels.
  • Support customer-focused initiatives by ensuring demand plans align with service expectations and product availability goals.

Operational & Analytical Support

  • Assist with reporting tools, dashboards, and forecast models used across the Supply Chain team.
  • Support scenario planning for demand surges, supply disruptions, or new market events.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities within Demand Planning and the broader Supply Chain organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, analytics, or supply chain operations (pharma/biotech preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with demand planning or ERP tools (SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, or similar).
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Experience supporting S&OP/IBP processes within a Supply Chain organization.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical distribution networks, market demand drivers, and product lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of forecasting methodologies and supply chain best practices.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $85,000 to $94,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.

The compensation and benefits described above are subject to the terms and conditions of any governing plans, policies, practices, agreements, or other materials or documents as in effect from time to time, including but not limited to terms and conditions regarding eligibility. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company, or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
