Job description

Job Title: Database Manager/Administrator

Location(s): Monterey, CA

Hours: Regular Full-Time

Salary Range: $130k/yr - $149k/yr

What you will be doing:

The person in this position will serve as a Database Administrator for the Data Center/application development/sustainment team, which includes creating, maintaining, and updating databases for existing and newly developed applications. This person will ensure security requirements are implemented to ensure data protection, at rest and in transit. The duties will include assessment of customer needs and implementation of improved configurations for customer needs.
The duties will include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all Database Developer servers and applications.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in database administration.
  • Experience requirements include 2 years of experience in testing applications and describing issues found in testing.
  • Database Management Systems (DBMS): Expertise in specific database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • SQL Programming: Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts to design efficient database structures.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and system administration practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex database issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Clear communication skills to collaborate with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy to ensure data integrity.

Education:

  • BA/BS from an accredited college
  • or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience
  • or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years experience.

Certifications:

  • Require anyone of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary would be required.
