We service clients in SLED (state/local gov''t & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.
Position Overview
The Data Migration SP EMIGALL Consultant will be responsible for designing, configuring, and executing data migration processes for the CIS Transformation Program using SAP IS-U migration tools, particularly SP EMIGALL. This role ensures the accurate extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of large-scale customer, contract, device, and billing data from legacy systems into the new CIS platform, while maintaining data integrity and compliance with utility regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute data migration activities using SAP IS-U''s SP EMIGALL toolset to support the CIS Transformation.
  • Design and configure migration objects (MIGRATE Objects) for master data and transactional data including customers, contracts, premises, meters, devices, billing, and payment data.
  • Develop and maintain migration templates, mapping rules, and data quality validation processes.
  • Coordinate extraction of data from legacy systems, transformation according to business rules, and load into target SAP IS-U/CIS environment.
  • Perform trial conversions, reconciliation, and data validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit compliance.
  • Collaborate with functional teams, data owners, and technical developers to resolve mapping issues, transformation logic, and cutover planning.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and optimize migration loads to meet program timelines.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and migration runbooks.
  • Support mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and go-live migration activities including issue triage and post go-live data reconciliation.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior team members or client staff on EMIGALL processes and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of SAP IS-U experience with at least 5 years specializing in data migration using SP EMIGALL.
  • Proven experience in multiple full-cycle SAP IS-U/CIS migrations for utilities or similarly regulated industries.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP IS-U master data and transaction data structures including contracts, premises, meters, billing, and device management.
  • Hands-on expertise in customizing EMIGALL objects, mapping, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, and reconciliation processes in high-volume utility environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public utility CIS transformations or large-scale SAP IS-U rollouts.
  • Familiarity with SAP IS-U modules including Device Management, Work Management, and Billing/Invoicing.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools, SQL, or other data migration utilities complementing EMIGALL.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Utilities or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance for customer data in the utility sector.
