Job Summary:

All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner. This position works under the direction supervision and training of the Data Entry Supervisor.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Data Entry of patient demographics, insurance information, tests, and diagnosis in the Softatcis billing system.


  1. Understand the distribution of requisitions from each program.


  1. Alert Supervisor of any abnormalities in system or with requisitions.


  1. Attach proper stickers to requisitions when returning unbillables to the programs.


  1. Correct unbillables returned from programs daily.


  1. Work assigned temporary reports and turn in to supervisor daily.


  1.  Work all correction returned by Supervisor within 24 hours.


  1. After 90 day probationary period, be able to enter an average of 500 tests daily with an error rate of 5% or less.


  1. Within six (6) months test count must be at 600 and be maintain with minimal error rate.




Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Be able to print lab results in Labtest(LifePoint) if necessary
  2. Understand temporary file in DataFlex.
  3. Understand edit reports in Seacoast
  4. Working overtime as needed



Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge and aptitude for basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of different payer types
  • Knowledge of lab tests
  • Knowledge of CPT codes
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 codes
  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of basic filing skills both alpha and numeric
  • Knowledge of Dataflex and Seacoast Software
  • Organization and problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in work environment
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team player


Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous sitting (up to 8 hrs/day)
  • Continuous walking (up to 8 hrs/day)
  • Intermittent bending
  • Simple grasping with both hands
  • Continuous typing 
  • Occasional lifting of storage files and boxes.
