Job description

XMS is seeking a skilled Splunk Dashboard Developer to design, develop, and maintain dashboards that provide actionable insights from Department-level operational data. The developer will work closely with NT leadership and operators to translate mission requirements into real-time, scalable, and visually intuitive dashboards.
This role is considered hybrid with a requirement of 2-3 days per week in Springfield, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain dashboards natively within Splunk using SPL (Search Processing Language) and Dashboard Studio / Simple XML.
Optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability with large data sets.
Collaborate with NT leadership, engineers, operators, and stakeholders to ensure dashboards meet operational and mission requirements.
Assist in data modeling, reporting, and access control configuration for secure and effective information sharing.
Support documentation and training for dashboard users.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's and fourteen (14) years or more experience; master's and twelve (12) years or more experience; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
Strong experience with Splunk dashboard development and SPL query language.
Proven ability to design and optimize Splunk dashboards for large, complex datasets.
Experience translating operational requirements into actionable visualizations.
Familiarity with collaborative tools for sharing dashboards across teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Required Clearance:
US Citizenship.
Active secret clearance with the ability to obtain top secret.
Preferred:
Experience in a government environment.
Familiarity with IT-related (specifically network) data and metrics.
Familiarity with IT operations, monitoring, or ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow.
Ability to use APIs to pull data from Splunk for custom reporting or integrations.
Some Power BI experience for cases where Splunk dashboards may not meet all visualization needs.
Security clearance or ability to obtain one.
