Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Splunk Dashboard Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative Splunk dashboards and visualizations that provide actionable insights for our operational and security teams. This role requires an active security clearance and strong proficiency in database integration to support a secure, mission-critical environment. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to transform raw data from a multitude of sources into a clear, concise, and unified view. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Splunk dashboards, reports, alerts, and visualizations to meet the needs of business and technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with end-users and project teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver user-friendly dashboards.
  • Onboard new data sources, including the parsing and normalization of data to be optimized for Splunk's Common Information Model (CIM).
  • Integrate and query data from various database systems using Splunk DB Connect, custom SQL queries, and REST APIs to enrich dashboard data.
  • Write, test, and optimize complex SPL (Search Processing Language) queries to ensure efficient and high-performing dashboards.
  • Develop custom Splunk applications and add-ons to extend platform functionality.
  • Automate tasks and processes using scripting languages such as Python or shell scripting.
  • Provide training and support to users on their use of Splunk and the dashboards you create.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation for all developed dashboards, reports, and data source configurations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance:U.S. Citizen. Must possess an active Security Clearance (Secret or above).
  • Experience:5+ years of experience in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field to include a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Splunk Developer, Engineer, or in a similar role focused on dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • Database Proficiency:Demonstrated proficiency with database integration, including strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Splunk DB Connect and/or interacting with REST APIs.
  • Core Splunk Skills:Strong expertise in Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL), creating complex queries, and performance optimization.
  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or in lieu of degree, 8 additional years of equivalent work experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications:
    • Splunk certifications such as Splunk Core Certified Power User, Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, or Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin are highly desirable.
    • DoD 8570/8140 compliance certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CISSP).
  • Advanced Splunk Knowledge:Experience with Splunk premium applications such as Enterprise Security (ES), IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), or User Behavior Analytics (UBA).
  • Scripting & Development:Experience with web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) for advanced dashboard customization and scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
  • Environment:Familiarity with working in DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), or other federal government environments.

Work Location: North Charleston, SC or Remote

Compensation: $110,400 - $165,500. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
