Description
Vanguard is seeking a skilled Splunk Dashboard Developer to design, develop, and maintain dashboards that provide actionable insights from Department-level operational data. The developer will work closely with NT leadership and operators to translate mission requirements into real-time, scalable, and visually intuitive dashboards.
This role is considered hybrid and may require onsite work in Springfield, VA and Beltsville, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain dashboards natively within Splunk using SPL (Search Processing Language) and Dashboard Studio / Simple XML.
  • Optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability with large data sets.
  • Collaborate with NT leadership, engineers, operators, and stakeholders to ensure dashboards meet operational and mission requirements.
  • Assist in data modeling, reporting, and access control configuration for secure and effective information sharing.
  • Support documentation and training for dashboard users.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong experience with Splunk dashboard development and SPL query language.
  • Proven ability to design and optimize Splunk dashboards for large, complex datasets.
  • Experience translating operational requirements into actionable visualizations.
  • Familiarity with collaborative tools for sharing dashboards across teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Required Clearance:

Preferred:
  • Experience in a government environment.
  • Familiarity with IT-related (specifically network) data and metrics.
  • Familiarity with IT operations, monitoring, or ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow.
