Power BI Developer
Remote
Job Summary:
Point72 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Developer with deep expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M code (Power Query Formula Language). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex Power BI solutions that deliver insightful data visualizations and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Maintain Power BI Solutions: Design and implement high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring they are optimized for performance and user experience.
  • Advanced DAX and M Code Development: Write and optimize complex DAX queries and M code to manipulate data, create calculated columns and measures, and perform advanced data transformations.
  • Data Modeling: Build and maintain efficient data models within Power BI, ensuring that data relationships are properly established and that models are scalable and maintainable.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, into Power BI, using Power Query and other tools to clean, transform, and load data.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize the performance of Power BI reports, ensuring fast load times and responsive interactions.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other team members to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Documentation and Best Practices: Document the design, development, and deployment processes, and contribute to the establishment and enforcement of best practices for Power BI development.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support for existing Power BI reports and dashboards, troubleshooting issues as they arise and implementing enhancements as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
    • Extensive experience with DAX and M code, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries and transformations.
    • Strong background in data modeling and ETL processes.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
    • Experience with SQL, including writing complex queries and working with relational databases.
    • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of other BI tools and data visualization best practices is desirable.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
