Job description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a precision manufacturing company in Fontana, CA. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist with experience in CNC turning, setup, G-code editing, and tight tolerance machining in a custom or low-volume production environment.

This is not repetitive production work — candidates must be able to independently manage setups, adjustments, and part quality from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes (turning machines).

  • Adjust offsets and restart programs mid-cycle as needed.

  • Machine and inspect large cylindrical parts and shafts to tight tolerances (±.001).

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

  • Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, gauges, and precision measuring tools.

  • Edit and adjust G-code programs as necessary.

  • Maintain part quality and accuracy throughout the machining process.

  • Qualifications
    • Minimum 2+ years CNC lathe (turning) experience required.
    • Minimum 2+ years conventional machining experience required.
    • Experience with setup, offsets, and program adjustments.
    • Ability to program/edit G-code.
    • Experience with FANUC controls or similar systems (Siemens experience a plus).
    • Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills.
    • Experience machining large cylindrical parts or shafts highly preferred.
    • Ability to hold tight tolerances (±.001) consistently.
    • Must pass a machining test prior to placement.
