Job description

Kato Roofing Inc. is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. We offer:

Industry: Commercial Roofing/Fabrication/Sheet Metal

Experience Level: Any

Summary/Objective

This position involves fabricating a wide variety of standard and custom metal components used in roofing and architectural applications. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, and the ability to assist customers with custom orders.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Fabricate standard sheet metal components, including:
    • Cap Metal, copings, drip edges
    • Cover plates, backer plates, S-clips
    • Standing seam flashings
    • Gutters, downspouts, and directional offsets (left, right, in, out)
    • Working and overflow scuppers
    • Soffit panels, custom panels
  • Produce advanced custom items such as:
    • Conductor heads
    • Square-to-round transitions for drains
    • Round pipe vents and storm collars
    • Tapered roof jacks
    • Chimney chase covers and curb cap covers
    • Water diverters for sloped roof curbs
  • Assist walk-in customers with special orders and provide knowledgeable product guidance.
  • Lay out and fabricate custom orders based on specifications.
  • Identify and understand different metal colors, gauges, and material limitations.
  • Safely operate fabrication equipment and change bending bars when required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read measurements and layout materials accurately
  • Skilled in operating cutting, bending, and forming equipment
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot fabrication challenges
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, move, and manipulate metal materials
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for precision fabrication work

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and business hours are Monday through Friday. Longer hours, evenings, and weekend work as necessary.


Travel
No travel outside Minnesota is anticipated unless deemed necessary for training or other Company needs. Travel to job sites in the region may be required to deliver materials on an occasional basis.
