Job description

Overview

We are hiring skilled CNC Machinists to join our rapidly growing custom machining department. In this role, you arenโ€™t just a button-pusher, you are a critical part of a team manufacturing custom, high-performance parts.

This is a highly technical, low-volume/high-mix environment. You will regularly be handed a blueprint and raw forgings, and be expected to set up the machine, tweak the program, and deliver great parts. You will be working primarily with highly specialized, proprietary automated mills and lathes, custom-tuned to this application.

We are looking for machinists with a strong mechanical aptitude, a deep understanding of the "why" behind the machining process, and the dynamic ability to learn specialized equipment. If you thrive on precision, enjoy making custom parts, and want to build components that power the top of the line consumer and industrial machines, this is the shop for you.

Compensation

  • $25 / hr base
  • $1.50 - $2 /hr shift differential (on 3rd and 2nd shift respectively)
  • Promotion within a year

Shift

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM โ€“ 10:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM โ€“ 6:00 AM

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • 401(k) + Company Match
  • Paid time off and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Complex Setups & Changeovers โ€“ Perform high-quality, rapid changeovers and setups on automated CNC lathes, mills and proprietary machining centers to run custom, short-run parts.
  • Blueprint & GD&T Interpretation โ€“ Strictly analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to determine exact dimensions, tolerances, and machining strategies.
  • Program Adjustments โ€“ Navigate CNC controls to touch off tools, calculate offsets, and confidently modify existing G-code and subroutines at the machine to dial in part accuracy.
  • Precision Metrology โ€“ Use the metric system alongside a wide variety of micrometers, calipers, and highly specialized gauges to ensure parts meet incredibly tight, high-performance tolerances.
  • Machine Troubleshooting โ€“ Dynamically learn new, proprietary machinery; troubleshoot issues creatively and make adjustments to maintain quality and minimize scrap
  • Automation Interaction โ€“ Operate and monitor automated systems and robotics (e.g., Kawasaki robots) integrated with the machining cells.
