Job description

BTM Company is seeking an experienced CNC machinist who takes pride in producing precision components, solving complex machining challenges, and working independently with minimal supervision. We are hiring experienced machinists for both CNC lathes and CNC mills on first and afternoon shifts. If you enjoy challenging work rather than repetitive production, we'd like to talk with you.

This position is intended for experienced CNC machinists who can independently set up and machine precision parts. It is not an entry-level machine operator position.

Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate CNC lathes or machining centers with minimal supervision.
  • Select tooling, establish work offsets, and verify first-piece quality.
  • Read blueprints and determine machining sequence.
  • Machine tight-tolerance components in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Make tooling, offset, and program adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
  • Assist less experienced machinists with setups and machining techniques.

Qualifications

  • Minimum seven years of CNC machining experience in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience independently setting up CNC lathes or CNC machining centers.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and machine parts to tight tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and machining strategy.
  • Proficient using micrometers, bore gages, indicators, height gages, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to edit offsets and make minor program adjustments as needed.

At BTM, you'll machine a wide variety of precision components rather than running the same production part every day. We're looking for skilled machinists who enjoy challenging work, solving machining problems, and taking ownership of quality from setup through final inspection.

Company Description

BTM partners with manufacturers to solve complex production challenges through custom automation, precision machining, tooling, and engineered solutions. As a family-owned company with more than 60 years of experience, we're committed to innovation, quality, and building lasting relationships with both our customers and employees.
