Senior CNC Milling Setup Specialist (Haas VMC) — Uniontown, PA

Step into a day where your setup expertise drives the pace of a small, established job shop. You arrive around 6:45am, review the morning priority list, and bring a Haas VF-4 online. A quick blueprint study, tooling selection, and a few precise offsets later, youre cutting chips. Before lunch, you pivot to the VF-11 for a small production run; in the afternoon, a custom part challenge calls for basic program edits and a keen eye on GD&T callouts. You wrap up by 3:30pm, having kept quality tight and jobs moving without handholding.

The Work
  • Set up and operate Haas CNC mills (primarily VF-4 and VF-11) for custom parts and small production runs across multiple industries.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM outputs to plan setups and verify requirements.
  • Make tool and work offsets, perform adjustments, and apply basic program edits as needed.
  • Select tooling, inspect parts, and hold required tolerances using strong GD&T and inspection skills.
  • Troubleshoot setup, tooling, quality, and machine issues; keep work moving as priorities shift in a job shop environment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area with minimal supervision once acquainted with our workflow.
Schedule, Pay & Overtime
  • Location: Uniontown, PA (small, established job shop)
  • Schedule: First shift, MondayFriday, 6:30/7:00am3:30pm
  • Pay: $30$35 per hour, negotiable based on experience
  • Overtime: Typically 210 hours available most weeks
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience with strong CNC mill setup capability (beyond basic operation).
  • Haas VMC experience strongly preferred; job shop background strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with G-code, offsets, tooling, troubleshooting; able to work independently after learning our flow.
  • Excellent blueprint reading and inspection; CAD/CAM or programming (e.g., Fusion 360) is a plus.
  • Leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience is a plus.
